Matt Hasselbeck ruled out for Seahawks game this week…

Per Digital Sports Daily:

Seattle Seahawk’s QB Matt Hasselbeck will not play Week 9 against the Giants due to a concussion.

The Seahawks will start Charlie Whitehurst  Sunday in place of Hasselbeck.

In 2010 Hasselbeck has a 70.8 passer rating and has thrown for 1,411 yards and six touchdowns in seven games.

Charlie Whitehurst will start his first career regular season game in the NFL. Whitehurst, the Clemson Alum, does not have a regular season pass attempt in his five NFL seasons.

Seattle acquired the 28-year-old quarterback via trade from the San Diego Chargers in the offseason.

The Seahawks have signed QB Zac Robinson off of their practice squad. Robinson, who was drafted in 2010 out of Oklahoma State, has never played in a regualr season NFL game.

The 4-3 Seahawks will take on the New York Giants in Seattle Sunday at 4:05pm ET.
